||Juancho Yrausquin International Airport is a department within the government apparatus of the Public Entity Saba, The airport, was officially opened for the first time on September 18th, 1963.
The objective of the Public Entity is the construction, maintenance, development and the operation of the airport premises situated on the island of Saba, to provide a safe and reliable aerodrome recognizing the distinct challenges created in providing air service to the people of Saba and visitors to the island.
The Public Entity through its Aviation Department, has as its aim to pursue an active policy when executing its activities where it concerns promoting flight safety, health and environmental aspects. Where possible, foreseeable hazards, which can lead to personal injury, diseases, fire or damages to property or to the social environment, should be identified and prevented. Through education and by utilizing best practices the department aims to provide a safe, healthy and responsive working environment.
Every employee is obliged to adhere to the rules and regulations laid down and to make use of their responsibility to report any situation that presents a risk or threat to the safe execution of operations at the aerodrome through the means that have been put at their disposal.
